What is Northwich Uke Club?Northwich Uke Club is a friendly and informal Ukulele club based in the heart of Northwich, Cheshire. Formed in September 2021, the group has gone from strength to strength ever since and now have over 30 regular members. The club offers a unique take on the Ukulele, think less George Formby and more The Killers, David Bowie, Blondie, R.E.M and The Foo Fighters!

Where and when do Northwich Uke Club meet?We host a weekly 'Uke Jam' event every Thursday from 7pm at The Grape & Bean in the Northwich. The evening will end no later than 10pm, although you are free to come and go as you like. We hope to see you there!

What is a 'Uke Jam' exactly?Our Uke Jam is a weekly get together where players of all abilities come to have fun, meet new friends and of course play music! Each week we play through a pre-determined song list together (usually around 14 or so songs) taken from our larger songbook which now features over 150 songs from a wide variety of genres. We take regular breaks throughout the evening so that you can use the bathroom, get a drink and socialise.

Is there a charge to attend the Uke Jam?The weekly Uke Jam is completely free to attend, however we do ask that you support the bar by purchasing drinks if possible please as they very kindly do not charge us a fee to use the venue.

What songs will be played at the Uke Jam?The latest version of our weekly Uke Jam songbook (v1.3) is now available to download and contains over 150 classic anthems from across the decades! From Rock to Pop and even Country, there really is something for everyone!

Is it OK to come along if i'm an absolute beginner?Yep! We love it when people pick up a Uke for the first time and discover just how fun it is! We will welcome players of all abilities. Just come along and have a go, everyone is friendly and will help you get started.

Can I still come along if I don't own a Ukulele yet?Absolutely! Everyone is welcome, even if you would just like to have a drink and sing-along. We do also have a limited number of spare 'house' Ukues which are available on a first come, first served basis. It is advised to bring your own if you decide to attend regularly.

Can I bring along and play another instrument?Unfortunately not, sorry. Only Ukes will be allowed to play (as well as the occasional Kazoo!) - it is a Uke club after all! :)

Why are pictures taken / videos recorded at the Uke Jam?We do occasionally take photos or record parts of our Uke Jam. This is solely for the purpose of promoting the club on social media / our website and will not be shared with any third parties. You can also let us know if you do not wish your image to be used and we will make sure your wishes are respected.

Does Northwich Uke Club offer Ukulele lessons?Unfortunately, we do not offer lessons at the moment, however this is something that we are actively looking into.

Can my child attend Northwich Uke Club?The venue / club does not impose a strict 'age limit' to attend, however we do ask that any child is accompanied by an adult and is mature and well behaved. It is also worth bearing in mind that our Uke Jam does go on until 10pm and takes place in a bar, which serves alcohol, and is open to the general public.

Do you have a WhatsApp group?Yes, we have a WhatsApp group which regular members are welcome to join. Please ask an organiser if you wish to join.

Can I buy Northwich Uke Club merchandise?Yes. Northwich Uke Club t-shirts (in blue) as well as beanie hats (in Blue or Orange) are now available. Please speak to an organiser for more details.

Are you associated with Lostock Ukes?We are a completely separate club from Lostock Ukes, however they are also based in Northwich and are a very warm and welcoming club.
